“I want to thank you for your support. Knowing you and coming to On Purpose Networking for Women has increased my confidence and made me more comfortable promoting myself and being myself. I am grateful to have you in my life.”

“Thank you for your kind words, and for the opportunity to circulate the ELDERSHINE envelope again in April! On Friday, with the lovingly given funds, I served fresh papaya, strawberries and blackberries, along with steamed carrots, cheese and whole grain crackers. And, of course, an assortment of teas! I’ve decided to call our tea parties our “FRUITFUL GATHERINGS!” I wanted you to know—and truly take in—how much you and On Purpose Networking have supported me in deepening my courage to follow my dream with ELDERSHINE and my Mindfulness work. A deep bow of gratitude!”

“Thank you for the warm welcome to last week’s On Purpose Networking for Women meeting. It was wonderful to meet so many women who are passionate about what they do, and how they want to share that with others. I left with a feeling of encouragement and empowerment. I am looking forward to the next meeting.”

“Thanks again for creating On Purpose Networking for women. After last nights meeting I had a hard time staying in bed at 4 A.M. I was so excited to get started with all of the contacts I made I couldn’t sleep. I’m excited about talking to Kimberly to coach me, I’m excited to talk to Deborah to get my health in check and I’m excited about talking to Sandy, she wants to share her story with me. I couldn’t wait to talk to someone today about On Purpose. For the first time in a very looooonnnngggg time I feel excited about my life. I realized I have been hiding and staying in my nice, safe life. Now I’m ready to show the world what I have to offer and I can’t wait to get started. I know with the love, support and friendships on the On Purpose women I can be all God has created me to be. Without your vision, none of this would be possible so from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

“What a great networking group you have created. I had such a good time last night and enjoyed talking with so many of the women there. Thank you for taking your time to talk with me. I had scanned your website before coming—so was glad to hear more about your background. I so much identified with you when you were talking about your feelings on ‘networking’ and handing out your cards—from my corporate days—I hated it, too. This type of group makes all the difference. Since moving to Annapolis, I’ve only been involved with one other group. They are a great co-ed group and I wanted to branch out to a few others as well. Lately, I’ve started checking out some other groups with lukewarm results. So what a delight it was for me last night to really resonate with the type of group you have put together. You will definitely be seeing more of me! Thanks again for your warmth and professionalism. Look forward to seeing you again soon.”

“Thank you for believing in yourself to start such a wonderful group as On Purpose Networking. The last year & half, I have grown as my authentic self tremendously; that is because of my association with this group. I always wanted more out of me and for me but didn’t know how to get it and didn’t know it was okay for me to make it a priority for me!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I trust that I will continue to grow and continue to become more of the amazing me that is coming to light. With much appreciation and love.”

“I am very grateful to you for creating On Purpose Networking for Women. OPN has been a blessing to me personally, as well as an amazing asset for my business. I have “grown” substantially, as I have stretched my comfort zone in meetings, where I know that I am in a “safe” environment. I am now much more at ease speaking to a group of strangers. I have learned invaluable tips on increasing my business from Ginny and from other OPN members. I have benefited from the services provided by other members and my business has grown, directly because of my involvement. I highly recommend On Purpose to anyone just starting out with a business and anyone who wants to take their business to the next level. Thank you Ginny!”

“If you are looking for a place where your dreams are not only heard, but given the respect and encouragement they need to grow, then by all means you must make On Purpose Networking for Women a part of your professional life. You will find yourself surrounded by women of all ages, backgrounds, skills, and experience. However, they all have one thing in common: a deep desire to grow both professionally and personally, and to think outside the box while doing so. OPN is refreshing, fun, challenging, inspiring, and nurturing. As an executive coach, I love to see people thrive and succeed in bringing their dreams and vision to reality, and there is much opportunity to do just that when you are a part of OPN.”

“Even though I’ve been attending On Purpose since it’s “birth” in March 2000, I found the New Member Orientation gave me insight into how new people viewed the group. It was a great reminder to me of how I felt at my first meeting…scared. The smaller group was conducive to getting to know each other better and I connected with some people there I might not have in a larger setting. I still love the OPN meetings and the orientation was another great idea of Ginny’s to help women connect with other women.”

“As a new member of On Purpose Networking for Women, I found the New Member Orientation most helpful. I appreciated the small group, the time for personal questions and lengthier explanations, and the knowledge of how one could best utilize membership according to one’s own needs—an essential component for a small business owner! Upon joining such an organization, it could take months to learn of the true benefits of membership and how to avail oneself to them. I found the orientation quite helpful in that it expediated that process for me and thereby made my life easier! I am excited to be a part of OPN and have found it one of the most rewarding networking groups that I have encountered—filled with people supporting one another in business and in life in general. The depth of genuine care and regard at OPN meetings is unsurpassed in my experience. Thanks for being so welcoming and inclusive!”

“I highly recommend the New Member Orientation to new and old members (and you know I do not mean your age!) who want to have a better life in any way. Wow—that was a strong statement and I mean it. Because there is a small group you may find just the contact you need for your next step in growth—personally or professionally. We all need reminders about using the wish list, the directory and the newsletter. More than a reminder and how to, Ginny inspired me to go home and send in a calendar notice and commit to several pointers, tips and an article. A fun and profitable evening.”

“Why did I attend the New Member Orientation? After being too busy to attend meetings for the past year, I feel like a ‘new’ member. The meeting brought my membership benefits back into focus, reminding me why I joined, how I can benefit from the group including the fact that I feel great when I help the other members. For sure you get out of any group, and especially OPN, what you put into it! The new member orientation was wonderful. A group small enough to get to know each other; large enough to get a good feel of the large diversity within OPN. Most definitely meeting another poet was a terrific bonus! Making myself set-up a plan to take better care of me and getting my eye back on taking advantage of the benefits is the best bottom line resulting from attending this get together!”

“Thanks so much for such a warm welcome! I had a great time at the meeting and met a number of wonderful ladies. I think what you’re doing is so positive. It was so inspiring to be surrounded by people who had taken the plunge into being their own bosses, especially since we live in a society that discourages people, women in particular, from going into business.”

“Since this is my first month in your organization, I don’t know if On Purpose will do what I expect it will (it will!)! My expectations are that On Purpose will give me a place to feel comfortable with other women in their own business. To meet these women and learn from them as I gain confidence and build my business while offering the opportunity to share the quality of PartyLite products. Placing flyers for specials and networking should maximize my success. Thank you for the opportunity!”

“I have been hired to be the ‘keynote’ speaker at the April 26th 2003, Carroll County Womens Fair. I give credit to On Purpose Networking for Women for giving me the opportunity to give a ‘slide-talk’ about my services.

“Two nights before my talk Joan Mcgraw had called and asked if I could volunteer to do a ‘fashion show’ at the Carroll County show. The theme of the show this year is Women’s Image. After she heard me speak she proposed to the planning committee that they hire me.

“If On Purpose had not given me the opportunity to talk and show how I have redefined beauty using color, and flattering shapes and styles to reflect inner as well as outer beauty, I would never have been offered this paid speaking engagement.

“I have given many other talks to women’s groups in the past. I always get an enthusiastic response. However, There is a big difference with On Purpose Networking. I am building relationships with women over time. As a result it has been easier for me to get new clients. With the other women’s groups I had no relationships or history with the women. I found ‘follow-up’ very uncomfortable and I would give up quickly if I was told to call back.

“With an On Purpose member who has expressed interest in my services, I know I will see her at meetings and as we continue building a relationship eventually my services will be needed. This takes the pressure off me and the pressure off my prospective client.”

“Just a note to thank you for inviting me to your On Purpose Networking meeting featuring the Rev. Sally Robbins, as well as Roberta Rook. Their thoughtful presentations and enthusiasm for their work were self-evident. The variety of business ventures represented and the supportive atmosphere exhibited were quite impressive and gratifying. The program segment during which new members and guests are given time to showcase their businesses is a great icebreaker. While networking with attendees after the meeting, I received a lot of encouragement from various members, which I will carry with me in my efforts to start my organic farm and retreat center.

“Congratulations on your nomination for Baltimore Entrepreneurial Spirit! It’s easy to see why you were named. I look forward to joining you at future meetings.”

“As a result of my experience with the On Purpose group and development of a more ‘holistic’ view of networking, it has transformed the experience of marketing myself from awful and painful to fun and productive. I attended a Chamber of Commerce meeting this morning and met several people. “I have attended two On Purpose meetings. The first one was such an incredible experience that I couldn’t imagine what would happen at the second meeting. I was so excited I truly thought I might be having a heart attack. I could feel my heart in my throat.

“Well, at the first meeting I didn’t know anyone. I sat next to Barbara Stanislawski and it turned out that I won her door prize that evening for 1 hr of PC coaching. Well I was the perfect person to win this, lucky to have met Barbara. The only thing I could do on the computer was Word, Type and Print. Now I have an email addiction. I love it. Barbara has been coaching me and is now the PC supporter for the Women’s Expo which I promote. Thanks to On Purpose I met Barbara.

“That evening several women signed up to be a part of the Women’s Expo. and to date at least 25% of the exhibitors are from On Purpose. On Purpose quick-started the Expo. Our very first commitment for the Expo was from On Purpose.

“Well the second meeting again took my business in new directions. Several more OPN persons signed up for the Expo and also bought admission tickets. The lady sitting next to me stood up and announced she would sponsor 2 non-profit groups for the Expo and she paid me on the spot.

“That night I brought at least 5 guests all of whom I had just met. If I were to explain all the connections and contacts and how we all fit into this Networking Web, it would sound unbelievable. There is an unexplainable power. I can’t wait to get to the next meeting just to watch everyones experience unfold before my eyes.

“I have had a 12 year Craft Show Business and wish I had known about OPN years ago. I have been spreading the word to every business woman I know. I used to belong to the local chamber. I tell everyone don’t miss out… try it. I promise you will meet someone, if not several people, who will help your business. I have to tell people this is NOT a Paid Advertisement. I sound like a walking, living, advertisement for OPN. I can’t stop telling people. When I experience something that really works I want to share it with everyone I care about.

“This is a funny story about how Networking is a Web. I drove to the February meeting with Reggie from Objects Found, who I just met. I had dropped off some paperwork on the Expo at her store. She happened to be shopping in Oella Mills where I have a store. At this point I still had never met her. I was walking in and she out. When someone called her name I said ‘excuse me, I was trying to get in touch with you.’ As the introductions began her cell phone rang and it was Ginny Robertson. Ginny thought I knew Reggie. No I was just meeting her. I thought Reggie knew Ginny. No, they were just meeting and I knew Ginny and was just meeting Reggie. All this took place at the same moment. I did end up driving to my 2nd OPN with Reggie.”

“Ever hear that expression, ‘Lucy. I’m home…”? Well, that’s just how I feel every month when I walk into an On Purpose Meeting. Yes, it’s about the networking… I always meet a few people who want to talk about cars and tires and service. Yes, it’s about the support… our Hope Doll Project continues to be eternally grateful for the support. But, really, it’s all about being in the company of women. Interesting women. Women I never see or talk to during my hectic business week. Women who remind me of what I hold dear; of how little I know about some things; and about how much I wish I had an extra day or two each week to get to know them all.

“Given the choice of jumping into a pair of flannel pajamas, eating chocolate ice cream out of the carton, petting my dear cat, Muffin Sue, or attending an On Purpose Meeting, I’ll take the latter.

“Thank you, Ginny for putting together this group of fantastic women and letting me meet someone new each month. It doesn’t get much better than this.”

“On Purpose has not only changed my way of looking at networking but how I look at people and life. It sounds dramatic but it’s true. The spirit of finding out how you can help someone else without any expectations has been a liberating experience. I find myself telling people about On Purpose because of my enthusiasm for the group and the terrific women that I’ve met. The energy in the room at an On Purpose meeting is a comforting and uplifting feeling. I’ve only missed two meetings since Ginny began in March 2000. I don’t miss On Purpose meetings unless I have another commitment or I’m out of town! I’ve never experienced being such an integral part of a group of women and I look forward to each meeting. The really great part about all of this is that not only that I look forward to each meeting, but now I also look forward to meeting people anywhere. And that was not me before On Purpose. What a great experience!”

“I never miss a meeting of On Purpose Networking for Women if I can help it. From one evening a month that I spend meeting and greeting and sharing, I get a shot of energy that gets me going for the next month. I leave renewed and revved up. Since I have been attending On Purpose (from the beginning, I’m proud to say) I have developed lasting and supportive personal and professional relationships in ways that I could not have done in any other venue, I know. After last month’s meeting, I now have dozens of women holding my intentions for the year as I hold theirs. Where else could you get that in a network setting!?! As a member of On Purpose, I’ve had the opportunity to network in additional ways with similar results. I find that it’s often easier to connect with someone by introducing On Purpose than to begin talking business right off. Thank you, Ginny for the great gift of On Purpose to the women of Baltimore. I look forward to watching it grow with 250 chapters around the country in the next ten years!!”

“On Purpose Networking for Women is wonderful. Every woman that attends a meeting gets what she needs whether it’s a chance to share her dreams, gain business contacts, pats on the back, a shoulder to cry on, a night away from the kids, healing services, spiritual guidance, or the experience of feeling the power of women supporting each other.

“I am personally on a spiritual journey and have found two wonderful spiritual teachers through On Purpose, Ann Kirby and Ellen Brown. Thank you for creating a forum where I can live ‘on purpose.’”

“I started going to On Purpose Networking last February, 2001. I had just started my own business and thought that it would be good for me to get out and see what other women entrepreneurs were thinking and doing. I needed to see how they were achieving their goals. I was very nervous and tentative at my first visit. I remember really enjoying watching the women interact with each other. But I didn’t say too much as I really didn’t know how or where I would fit in. I continued to go back to the meetings as often as I could. I came to know and like many of the members. What I found was an environment that was conducive to personal growth, warm, friendly, helpful, with virtually no nastiness to be found anywhere. I always look forward to each meeting, never knowing exactly how it will run or who will attend but comfortable in the knowledge that it will be a good time. I know I’m going to learn something new each and every time, too. And the food is very, very good!. Ginny Robertson has created a terrific forum for women like me to become more confident in my own abilities and able to get out of my own way to become an even greater success, both in my business as well as in my private life. You have been a wonderful mentor to me. I appreciate so much everything you have done for me. I think you are a perfect example of how women should be out there trying to help other women succeed. Thank you so much for everything, Ginny.”

“Ten days later, I am still overwhelmed by the kind reception you gave me over the ‘From Grief to Memories’ campaign. I had no idea my few words, unprepared as they were, would invite such warmth from all of you. Last weekend, a fireman at a volleyball tournament proudly said, ‘I just went to the ATM machine,’ and emptied out his wallet to donate some books. His eyes glowed, as if he had discovered something very special. He asked if he could donate his books directly to the firefighters. I came home to make special labels for his books! At times like this, as it was at your meeting, I felt blessed to be able to directly experience the beauty and the strength of human souls that came together to share compassion.

“As of now, we have 995 books donated. Today, I heard from the Red Cross group that reviewed the book (and loved it). They have agreed to pay for shipping to send them specifically to grief counseling centers to give them to the grieving families in New York and New Jersey. We will send them 1000 copies. I have also made an appointment to meet with the firemen’s association on December 20, at which time we will discuss how we will handle their portion of the books. I will keep you updated on where the books will be going through ‘Inspiration’ under www.soras.com [selecting link will open a new browser window].

“Thank you so much for allowing me to speak at the meeting. You certainly gave me that extra push to get to where we are now!”

“In the past few weeks, 2 people have called me a ‘networking queen!’ One year ago, I read a book about word of mouth advertising and realized that I needed to learn how to network because I did not know how. I hated to go to events with lots of people. The idea of networking kind of turned my stomach. However, because of your message about networking… to look at it from he perspective of how can I help this person across from me… and that it is about building relationships, one person at a time, I love to network. It is something completely different from what I thought it was. Now I think of it as building friendships for the purpose of helping others connect so that this planet will still be here and maybe be a better place, for the children and for their children. Thank you Ginny.”

“Thank you for tonight I really enjoyed myself. at the On Purpose Networking for Women meeting. After reading the directory, I wanted to sign up for an hour w/each person there. Public speaking (as I demonstrated) is not one of my favorite things to do. Put me one on one and I will talk your ear off, only after I get over my incredible shyness.Strange, I picked sales as a career. However, I left quite fired up and ready to take on the world. I decided my theme song on the way home (and of course it is now permanently in my brain) would be ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’. My husband will say, ‘I don’t need to worry about this or that because I know you will’ He is right… it keeps me from moving forward at times. I like the idea of having a theme song. In my business, you are only as good as your last month. Every month I look at that blank board where we post our numbers (worrying) and wondering how and where I will drive the business in. I believe that the women in that room tonight will help me find the answers I am looking for. Thank you for bringing so many powerful/positive women all together under one roof and introducing them to me. I look forward to your next meeting.”

“Thank you so much for the opportunity to attend the one year anniversary celebration of On Purpose Networking for Women. I was honored that you thought of me. And especially honored that you would make special consideration for my attending. I’ve wanted to attend an On Purpose Networking Event I think since I first started reading the emails between you and Carol! I had a wonderful time. The women who attended were all so warm and caring and I learned so much. The presentation to Ann Kirby was a perfect Ginny Presentation. No pomp and circumstance, but at the same time there was pageantry of a different sort—that of love, honor, caring, and respect. Something that I see you extend to everyone always and that people extend right back to you. You have developed a great network of friends and support. The feeling in the room was profoundly gentle. friendly and supportive.”

“My life has changed so much since I went to my first On Purpose Networking for Women meeting. I’m not a person that says thank you very well, usually because I’m just not sure how to, but I felt compelled today to let you know how attending your meetings and your self-care workshop has added to my life. I no longer feel like I’m a victim but I feel strong and empowered. In the last 6 months my life has changed so much and I contribute that to you. You are doing great things and I know that God had my Angels send you into my life. For this I have thanked God many times. I know that you touch peoples lives everyday, but I’m not sure that you realize the full impact of what it is you do, or maybe you do and if so that is wonderful. You were definitely heavenly sent to me and for this I thank you more than I can ever tell you. (Writing this is touching me so deeply that I’m crying, not a good thing when you are at work) so I’ll end now by just saying THANK YOU to you for everything you have done for me and to God for sending you to me.”

“I wasn’t a charter member of the On Purpose Networking for Women group though I first came to an early one. I was trying to relax as I dished out some of the great salad you had for us. I offered my serving assistance to a woman across the table from me and said something flippantly friendly and familiar. She looked up with a big smile and announced that she liked me already. What a way to make someone feel comfortable… to announce out loud that they like you even when they don’t even know you. The evening was interesting; new people introductions, playing musical chairs and starting again at a new table with introductions. The focus seemed to be on promoting ourselves that evening. I sat myself at the ‘Powerful Woman’s Table’ in the center of the room and listened to what these women did. I was amazed! Some of the opportunities these women were successfully pursuing had been areas I had attempted. Others had positions I hadn’t even imagined. Each one was fired up about the service they offered and the lives they were able to touch. When I introduced myself to the table and said what it is I do, the ‘I like you already’ lady, again in an outspoken manner, said, ‘Oh! Do I need your services. PLEASE give me your card now.’ as she reached out her hand for my card. I have visited the home of this woman on a regular basis to work on both her and her husband. My cost of the membership has been paid 10 fold. The gift of the woman’s influence in my life, immeasurable. Thanks, Ginny, for pulling together such positive role models and interesting opportunities. I feel rejuvenated and redirected when I leave your events. They’re Great!”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the last On Purpose meeting. I finally got it. I realized that I was there not so much for the business networking as I was for the understanding and support of others. I really benefited from authentically listening to others, and from sharing my own story. I think it was all of the energy in the room that prompted my experience and my insight. What a great group!”

“I have been going to Ginny Robertson’s On Purpose Networking for Woman and I highly recommend it to all women. It is a very powerful meeting with VERY powerful women. A great place to showcase your career, get help with your dream ambitions and even find a plumber if that is your saga for the day. I put it out at the last meeting that I would like for people to listen to me on the radio and call in. The first called was an ‘On Purpose’ woman and from there the phones rang off the hook for the entire hour of the show! Go girlfriends! I’m a believer! The group is very interesting, informative and fun.”

“I am so pumped after last night’s networking event that I’ve decided to use all of my resources to get my consulting business together. I read the first chapter of ‘Developing Winning Business Plans’ last night. I noticed the date on the inside cover was written on July 31, 1999. It was a whole year ago that I started thinking about launching my own consulting business and I didn’t follow through with any of my aspirations. I was encouraged last night to go for it and for the first time it makes sense and I’ve come up with more reasons to do it and do it NOW because tomorrow isn’t promised to me. Several ladies last night reminded me that it’s better to follow your heart and do what you want to do rather than keep putting it off only to regret later that you never made an attempt. Makes good sense to me. Thanks again for your support. You are a fabulous speaker, business organizer and have all the good stuff it takes to be successful.”

“I just wanted to take a minute to thank you. I found last night’s gathering warm, fun, inspiring and full of spirit. Meeting you, it’s easy to see how that rare mixture is achieved. I lead women’s spirituality groups and one theme that recurs is that everything is fine as long as the group is meeting, but when they try to take their convictions and authentic selves back into the world, they can’t find support. I feel blessed to know that I now have an alternative to give them.”

“At the On Purpose Networking for Women Session, I met a very interesting lady who believes that you can create something from items ‘Right in your own Backyard’ and she is proving it. I also found out she is very interested in Yoga as I am. I met a young lady who will probably be able to help me improve the look of my car with a paint job at a reasonable cost. Just a couple of persons at this session who will probably be in my life a long time because of your definiteness of purpose; your determination; your love for your sisters. Thank you again and again.”

“As a veteran of networking events, I am always skeptical when someone says they have a ‘new’ way to do networking. Shame on me. I should have known that anything Ginny Robertson created would be special and different. What a high caliber of dynamic, interesting and alive women all together in one room. I feel fortunate that I am taking part in the beginning of this. One of these days, as On Purpose Networking for Women grows and grows, I will be able to say, ‘I remember when…’ Thank you, Ginny, for bringing so many wonderful women together in one place.”

“As I sat in the room on Ginny’s first On Purpose Networking for Women event I realized I was seeing a vision become a reality. Months ago Ginny and I were at a restaurant eating and talking and talking and talking. She said (and I’ll paraphrase) I have this vision of getting women together who have a good sense of who they are. You know, women who know that their higher intelligence is guiding them and who want to make a difference on this planet through their work, play and dreams. These special women could come together and network. Think of the multiplied power we would have if we all came together in support of each other. As Ginny continued to talk of her dream I got the virtual goose bumps. I could see it too because knowing Ginny and her intentions, courage, confidence and commitment she could pull it off and so she did on Wednesday night March 29,2000. I could feel my own confidence and power soaring as new and old ‘friends’ gave me hugs, smiles, encouraging words, oohs and aahs over my art work. As I heard other women speak about their own journeys and the courage it took for many of them to create a life of authenticity in their work and play, I realized that as we share our visions, energies, love and time with each other we truly are more powerful working together rather than in isolation. We give each other permission to ‘Live Large’. Thank you Ginny. Your vision and living example has given us permission to ‘Live Large’ and help us experience our magnificent and authentic power.”

“I want to thank you for organizing this event. In all honesty, I was wary of attending because of past experience at other networking functions during which I felt more like the target of unrelenting sales pitches. Last night was totally, refreshingly different. As I spoke with the women I had the opportunity to meet, I felt such warmth, such compassion, such a sense of belonging to something very powerful. As I listened to their stories an incredible thing happened—I realized that I too had a story, and I began to tell it. That is very atypical behavior for me, but words just started coming out and it felt good. It felt better than good. It felt right. Thanks for providing such a significant opportunity. I’m looking forward to the next one!”

“It’s almost 4:00 in the morning and I couldn’t sleep. Woke up thinking about last night and the amazing time I had at your Networking premier. I just want to thank you for bringing all the women together. Wish I could have put into writing what the night meant to me. Courage, excitement, electricity, honor, hope, leap after leap of faith, job, rejoicing, celebrating, healing, overcoming fear… on and on. I was just laying in bed thanking God for you and your wonderful spirit of intentional living and giving to others. I learned so much about myself last night. I made a huge decision about my job which I know I wouldn’t have made had I not been there last night. I was given the gift of courage after listening to woman after woman tell their stories of courage and joy. Thank you so very much.”
