Manifestation is the process of transforming your desires into reality. To manifest your desires all you have to do is know what you really want and then use all of your senses to imagine that you are being, doing or having it now. When you do this, because of the Law of Attraction, the experience or thing you desire will manifest into physical form.
In the last two issues of On Purpose Woman, I wrote articles on the first and second steps of manifestation: know what you don’t want and know what you do want. The article in this issue is about the third step: believe you will receive your desire by clearing your blocks to it and opening the flow of abundance. For many of us (including me) this can be the most challenging of the steps because of beliefs, often unconscious, related to our lack of “deservability” and other limiting constructs.
To believe you will receive your desire I recommend a two part process. One part is to open yourself to the flow of abundance using breath, movement, and gratitude. The second part is to clear your blocks and doubts so that you can allow yourself to attract your desires.
Being in a state of abundance has us vibrate in alignment with the universe. When we are in this state and thinking about our desires, the universe believes that we really want them. When we don’t believe we will receive our desires, because of the Law of Attraction, they won’t come to us. We experience scarcity or lack. We feel separated from Source. Usually our breath is shallow or restricted; our body feels tight or fatigued; and our mind is stuck in thoughts of lack.
Allowing the flow of abundance begins with mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of noticing our experience without judgment. With mindfulness we can notice whether our breath is shallow or full, if our body feels tense or relaxed, or if our thoughts are focused on struggle or appreciation. With the mindful observer present, we have a possibility of choice. We’re not just reacting to what happens, but we’re observing and choosing how we respond to whatever situation we are in.
To help this process, I encourage folks to have a conscious, abdominal breathing practice. With this practice we can re-educate our systems to engage in full relaxed breaths. This opens our bodies and allows chi (or Lifeforce) to flow in freely through the breath. My favorite resource for this is Gay Hendrick’s book Conscious Breathing.
Using movement to open the flow of abundance is just as important as breath. If your body is stuck in holding patterns or has a limited movement repertoire, it can be very difficult to access a new vibration no matter how much you try to change your thinking. To open up your body, you can receive body work such as massage, craniosacral therapy, acupuncture; learn from an Alexander technique teacher or Feldenkrais practitioner; or work with a dance/movement therapist.
Gratitude is a relatively simple and life altering practice. Take a moment and think about all that you are grateful for and notice what happens to your breath and your body. You can be grateful for something as simple as the blue sky or the sound of the birds or as significant as the important people in your life and the opportunities you have had to grow. When we shift into gratitude, we make contact with the flow of abundance that is ever present.
In addition to making these overall shifts into an abundant state of being using breath, movement, and gratitude, most of us need to clear our blocks to manifesting our desires. In my work as a manifestation coach and my own personal journey, I have identified the following blocks.
1. Starting Gate blocks occur when a person doubts that whatever he or she wants is possible and quits before even starting. Thoughts related to this block include, “I can’t; it’s not possible; it’s not going to work; nobody wants me to do this.” This block can be related to our core wound(s), so sometimes deep healing is necessary to evolve past it.
2. No Results blocks happen when a person has been doing all of the work needed to attract his or her desires but because of no results quits too soon. When we quit our vibration shifts back to how we were before we began and nothing ever changes. Unfortunately when we use this block or the Starting Gate block, we stop the process before it even begins and never experience success.
3. Unconscious/conscious misalignment blocks occur when our unconscious wants something other than what our conscious desires. For example, over the last few years, I have asked for a full practice. When it didn’t happen, I explored my blocks and realized that another part of me (an unconscious child-like part) didn’t want to work that hard!
4. Success happens and you quit blocks are the result of being afraid of success. Most of us have experienced times when things are going well and then somehow something happens and we “sabotage” it. In the fall I had gotten back into exercising regularly after about a three year hiatus and I was starting to feel physically fit. Then last month someone accidentally jumped on my toe and I haven’t been able to wear exercise shoes or go to the gym since! As much as I would like to believe that this was totally outside of my control, I keep wondering if this little block decided to intervene and prevent me from feeling great!
5. Higher Self/conscious/unconscious misalignment blocks occur when our Higher Self is not in alignment with what we say we want. If we don’t really want, at the deepest level of our being, what our conscious mind says we want, we will be conflicted about manifesting it.
6. What then? Blocks… For some reason I love the challenge of going for a goal. So if I achieve it then what? I no longer have something to work towards! However, I recently learned that we have an infinite supply of desires. So, when I have manifested a consistently full practice and thriving workshops at my center, which are my current goals, I’ll be able to go on to my next goal: the development of books and CDs that support manifestation, conscious healing, and transformation that I can sell on my web page! In the next issue of On Purpose Woman I will write about the fourth step to manifestation: Ask for it. Opening the flow of abundance and clearing our blocks allows us to fully vibrate in alignment with our desires and believe we will receive them. Now all we have to do is ask. Look for “Ask for it … The Fourth Step to Manifesting All of Your Desires” in the next issue of On Purpose Woman Magazine to find out about some fun and practical ways you can ask for your desires.
